barrystock
I use Retrospect 6 to backup my internal 120GB drive to DVD-R, and although not as fast as tape, the backup to DVD-R usually proceeds at ~120mb/min. I am, for the first time, backing up an external Acom Data 120GB Firewire drive, 37.5 GB used, with ~9300 files on it. The backup is moving at only 43mb/min. What's up with that? I tried emtying my caches, running Macjanitor's routines, and restarting the backup with a new set, but it's still poking along. Thanks, Barry Stock Hollywood, Florida
natew
Hi Are finder copies of files to the drive slow? Try disconnecting other firewire devices. They may be slowing things down. Nate
