smallest
i see this error every time the unattended backup starts the 'Verifying' step. assert_log.utx says: OS: Windows 7 version 6.1 (build 7601), Service Pack 1, (64 bit)Application: C:\Program Files\Retrospect\Retrospect 9.0\retrospect.exe, version 9.0.1.110Exception occurred on 7/21/2014 at 9:19:37 PMError info: Assertion failure at "tree.cpp-4411"Exception code: E0000000 ASSERTIONFault address: FD11940D 0001:0000840D KERNELBASE.dll and then there's a big stack trace. What's the solution?
Lennart_T
Judging by the name "tree.cpp", I think the disk directory (tree) is corrupt. Try running CHKDSK on: The source volume, the catalog file volume and the disk media set member volume.
smallest
CHKDSK showed nothing wrong. searching shows that this error has been happening for people across many versions of RS. surely someone knows what causes it.
Lennart_T
Is Retrospect still showing the error? If it does, try another Media set as the destination. Still a problem?
63bda858-5080-4ac5-a935-a2f1399479d1
Check if you have the "save snapshots" option enabled in the configuration. I had a recurring error with the same message that Technical Assistance was able to debug finding that this option was (accidentally) disabled.
