mlj
Hi PowerBook G4 OSX 10.1.4 Dvico Momobay CX1 (2.5" IBM 30GB: Oxford 911), Firewire Bus Powered Retrospect Express During an immediate 'duplicate' my firewire disk hangs - about 160MB of 360MB through - and I have to switch off the external disk in order to regain access to my desktop. Normally, the backup works (2nd or 3rd time), but may then also hang during checking the backup. Since I've been using updated drivers from BsCrew hanging during normal operation seems to have been eradicated. I've had it connected for hours, whereas the duplicate hang happens after minutes! My last backup left me with a 16GB partition that I can no longer mount due to incorrect permissions. This is my backup drive and also contains some edited video work. Are you aware of bus powered firewire disks hanging? Is there a fix? How can I get this drive to mount? Txs
IrenaS
What if you try to use the Finder to copy the same amount of data? Does it complete successfully, or do you still get a hang?
