stada Posted February 20, 2004 Report Share Posted February 20, 2004 Hello, is it possible to raname files during backup from Mac Client to Windows Server, the way that windows is able to handle files and directories properly (Mac files containes '/' and '\' and other 'illegal' characters) ? CallMeDave Posted February 20, 2004 Report Share Posted February 20, 2004 Actually, unless you're doing a Duplicate operation, Retrospect does not store any actual individual files at all. If you're running Retrospect on the Windows machine, and Mac OS X Client software on the Mac, and you're either backing up to an external storage device (tape, CD/DVD, etc) or to a File Backup Set, then Retrospect will store your files in its own format, and Windows won't care about file names.
