wordsunweb
Hello, I am unable to restore files. Retrospect is reporting the correct filesizes, however, when I restore them the filesizes are all 0. I'm using Professional 7.0.265. It seems to be a problem with one backup client only. Any ideas? nekr0phage
Hi, You should update Retrospect: http://www.emcinsignia.com/supportupdates/updates/retrospect/archive/#UPDATETYPE41 Are these files of a particular type? Are you getting any errors when attempting to restore?
wordsunweb
The files are various types and no errors occur when restoring. I have had a few CRC errors when backing up this client. Could this have someting to do with it? Remember, the file sizes are being reported correctly within Retrospect. I will try an upgrade to see if that makes a difference. Thanks
wordsunweb
I have just upgraded to the latest version and still no joy. I only seem to have problems when restoring from the Desktop. I have tried to restore the Desktop and Favourites. The Favourites is fine but the Desktop is all 0. I do get the following error from the logs (although retrospect says files were restored successfully): File "C:\[FILE]": can't write, error -1012 (feature unsupported)
wordsunweb
PROBLEM SORTED: The files were encrypted which is why the filesize was returned as 0. I restored the files onto the backup client rather than my own machine, and this worked! Thanks for your help.
