ahichris
Hello all. We just got a Maxtor OneTouch III drive that came with your software. When you go to configure the software, or press the button on the drive itself, I get a dialog that says "Retrospect has encountered a serious error: Assertion failure at "Module.cpp-460". We are running Windows 2000 Advanced Server. The drive itself is working perfectly. The drive letter is functioning in My Computer... I saw this same error with your paid version of the software which you guys appeared to fix. By the way, I did download the update on your website to the newest version. Still no workie. Thanks a lot Chris

nekr0phage
Hi Chris, What version of the software are you using? Most versions of express will not run on a server operating system.
ahichris
We are using version 1.1.127.
nekr0phage
Chris, Unless you bought the Maxtor Small Business Edition which comes with a server version of Express HD, you will not be able to run the program on a server OS. IMHO I don't think HD would be the best choice for protecting AS class data.
ahichris
I agree about HD and AS. But we are a small company and this is what I was handed. Any backup is better than no backup. What would you recommend? Upgrading to a server based product? Chris
nekr0phage
Chris, Yeah, I would recommend at least Disk to Disk. That should be the least cost-prohibitive version of the full, server-compatible product.
