ebatte
I have 2 backup sets that contain data I would like to keep on external hard drives. I would now like to replace 2 drives (that contain parts of one of the backup sets on each drive) with a single drive. Should I simply add the new drive, copy the data, and rebuild the catalog? Thanks, Eric
nekr0phage
Hi Eric, You have a few options here. You could move the existing backup sets to the new drive, and then recreate the catalog files so that Retrospect knows where the data is. Or, you could create new backup sets on the new drive and have Retrospect transfer the old sets into the new. You could transfer into parallel backup sets, or you could transfer the old sets into a single new backup set and consolidate your backup data.
