arnj Posted July 21, 2006 Report Share Posted July 21, 2006 On a w23k server sp1 I just did a bare metal restore from a 4 day-old disaster recovery backup set via the "install another w23k instance and then install the retro client after/restore over the network" method. After the restore I get "load needed dlls for kernel" after the restart - windows failed. Trying the CD restore method next, but if someone has an answer it would be helpful. Mayoff Posted July 21, 2006 Report Share Posted July 21, 2006 Did you install 2003 SP1 as your "temp" system before doing the restore? The exact same system version must be installed before the restore. Did you go into Active Directory Restore mode following the restore, after the first launch?
