AlanQ
MacBook (new 13") with Panasonic (matshita) UJ-857 DVD burner. Tried to back up onto DVD-R and got the message "incompatible". Mac OS 10.4.6, Retrospect 6.1.126 (said to support Intel Macs) and driver update 6.1.5.102 (said to support UJ-857). I started a brand new backup set to avoid any mixups. This drive can record onto the same DVD-R media in the finder with no problems. So what do I do next?
nekr0phage
Hi, Try DVD+R, preferably Verbatim or TDK.
AlanQ
Just bought a spindle of Verbatim DVD+R 16x and Retrospect accepts them. Strange that quality DVD-R discs that are fine for video are no good for backup.
