gdusseau
Can I backup the hard drive on which Pro is installed? I'm trying to determine what each product offers. Pro 7.5 appears to be server + 3 client licenses...is that correct? If I only want to backup one laptop (and have Pro installed on the same) is it possible to do? Or, do I need to have a dedicated server with Pro installed, then backup the clients via ethernet or wireless? TIA gdusseaux
awnews
Yes, probably most people running Retrospect back up the PC on which it is installed. The common server/multiple clients is a more specialized (and expensive) app & situation. You don't have to use Clients with Retro Pro, but you can--either way, it will back up itself. The backup destination can be on another machine (e.g. a shared drive over a network).
nekr0phage
Hi, One small addition - Retrospect Pro will backup 3 machines total without additional licenses: the machine it is installed on and 2 clients.
