jd91651
I ran across this FAQ numbered article 663 on your web site and entitled: CD-R and CD-RW Windows Backup FAQ The fourth paragraph down is this statement: BACKUP CDS IN WINDOWS EXPLORER Backup discs created by Retrospect are accessible only by Retrospect; they will not be visible in Windows Explorer or other software. NOTE: You cannot use CD-ROM drives to restore from CD-R backup sets ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is this true?!?!? IE you cannot use a cd-rom drive to restore from a cd-r media? OR is this talking about ad cd-rom drive in the literal sense IE a cd-rom drive that can only read without write capability (as opposed to a cd-r/w drive which can read and write) The terms are used so interchangeably these days. lv2ski
This means you cannot put a CD (CDR or CDRW) that has been burned with Retrospect into your normal CD-ROM drive and expect to see any data on the cd. You will not. It will appear empty! You must put the CD into your CD Burner (CDR or CDRW Drive) and use Retrospect to restore the data....that is the only way to see data on a cd writen by Retrospect.
