tschulz
I bought a tape library (Cybernetics, 2 AIT drives) cheap on eBay. Now here is the challenge to everybody: what is the simplest (lowest cost) setup for a PC to drive that tape library? That PC's only job would be to collect the backups from clients in ther network and write it to the tapes. One thing is for sure: I need a SCSI card with external connectors. But: Do I need the Retrospect Tape add-on? Do I need the single-server version? Or is the Pro version enough? And would I need Windows Server or is a stand-alone version enough?--- Tom
natew
Hi Retrospect single server on a Win2K/XP workstation will work just fine. You need the Single server version of Retrospect in order to use the tape library functions. You do not need the tape add on - that just gives you the ability to use more than one tape drive at once.
