5 day rotation not incremental

I want to do a 5 day rotation that does a full backup of the source files and folders but not incrementally. BUT I want want each one to be a session and not erase the whole tape or overwrite the last session.

 

 

 

What is the best way to do this?

Here is what I do: I create one full recycle backup for each day of the week - each with its unique name. Then I just schedule each one to run automatically one day per week. Of course you could also run each manually.

You need 5 different backup sets, one for each day of the week. You then need to go into the script options and uncheck all the "matching" options. This forces Retrospect to copy every file, every single time without overwriting previous files.

 

 

 

You need to set the script schedule for "normal" so it does not erase the previous backup set contents.

Hmmm, I don't see that option. Maybe because I am using Retrospect Express. In any event I would still probably use the method I previously posted - that way I end up with 5 (or 7) complete sets and then the whole process starts over rather than appending forever.
