A new Twist on error 519?

I am using the lastest versions of Retrospect and Client. Both Retrospect and Client run under Mac OS 9.1. Client is on a iMac with a working network connection and has multi-user turned on. It has a static IP address on the same subnet as Retrospect. I have checked off the "Load only when needed" option in the TCP/IP control panel.

If a user is logged in, the backup will work fine. If there is no user logged in or the machine is in shutdown mode waiting to be backed up, I get the 519 error.

I also have a OSX client and if I log out of it, retrospect can still back it up.

I have dug through a lot of this site to try and identify the problem, but with no success. The only thing I can conclude is a user has to be logged in. Is this true?

P.S. When I shutdown the OS9 client I get the Retrospect bouncing icon, but when I shutdown OSX client I get no such thing. Is this by design?

When you get a 519, are any files copied?

Do you have the computer set to sleep at all? If so, turn sleep off.

Are there other processes happening at the time of the backup, such as Sherlock indexing or virus scans?

No files are getting copied. I can go to the Configure Client screen and see the computer on the network. But when I connect to the computer for backup it fails.

The computer is set to sleep, but I have been doing some experimenting. If I start up the computer and get as far as the login screen for multiple users, I will get the 519 error. If I log in as any one of the users, everything backs up fine. If I log out, 519 again. If I shut down, either while logged in as a user or from the login screen, I get the bouncing icon on the screen and 519 when trying to backup. And this is all before the machine even has a chance to go to sleep.

No other processes are running. The machine is sitting totally idle. Specially during the bouncing icon.

I have discovered the problem. Has anyone heard of ContentBarrier? It was installed on the machine in question. From what I gather, it is designed to reject unwanted content, porn and the like. It appears it also keeps Retrospect from working correctly.
