akanter
I have some very old archives created using Retrospect from a Mac onto a Storage Dimension SCSI W.O.R.M. drive. I'd like to recover the files using my Dell notebook. I have version 7 of Retrospect, and wondered what was the best way to do this under Windows XP. Should I try getting a SCSI PCMCIA card and hope that I can see the WORM drive, or try to get a version of Retrospect which will run on an old Mac and connect to the drives that way? I do have an old powermac, but do not have a version of Retrospect which will work on it. Any ideas?

natew
Hi Backups made on a mac must be restored using a Mac. You cannot restore them using a PC. You will have to find an old version of Retrospect to do the restore. Thanks Nate
akanter
Thanks, Nate! Anyone have an old version of retrospect for the Mac which will run under OS9? I tried to download the 5.1 trial version and install it and I get an error during installation... when it gets to the driver file it terminates with an unexpected end of file error or something similar.
