mgerlach
I'm using a Dell PV 132T with 20 tapes. I want the tapes to switch positions in the library on a weekly basis so I can have someone at the site just go to the box and pull out the tapes in slots 1-3 without having to figure out if they're the right ones. In Retrospect, how can I tell the library (through a script or otherwise) to move tapes on a timed basis that's not part of a job? Mark
natew
Hi You can't do this with Retrospect. They will need to check the configure->devices window to verify the tape names. Thanks Nate
mgerlach
As a Programmer, I'm wondering if there is an API that Retrospect offers that I can use to hook into and create my own "Schedule move" app? Any ideas in this regard? Mark
natew
Hi Retrospect can call an external script at certain times during operation. Your best bet would be creating a batch file that talks directly to the loader. I suppose hooking into Retrospect is possible but I have never seen it done and we don't have any info on how to do it. Sorry Nate
