We have a script to backup a bunch of stuff to our tape library, a Quantum DLT 4500, everyday. The problem is that it doesn't automaticall switch the tapes. I'm thinking the problem might be that it sees the 4500 as a 4700, but I'm not 100% sure if that's it. Anyone have any other ideas? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lv2ski Posted May 20, 2002 Report Share Posted May 20, 2002 Is the drive in Random mode? (Usually an autoloader has SCSI, Sequential or Random mode). Make sure it is in Random mode or SCSI mode in order to automatically switch tapes. Your vendor should have instructions on checking this "option" on your Loader if you need help.
