ascension
Hi all! I apologize if I am making a duplicate post here - I tried searching for the answer for the past 20 minutes ... but to no avail! I have a WinXP machine here at home and a Apple iMac with 10.4 Tiger installed at work. I am using Retrospect Express 5.6 here at work, and I'm sure the same version at work (not sure if I downloaded a more recent version or upgrade from the Dantz website). I want to be able to back up my music from the work pc on my Dantz hard-drive (and then upload them to my Home pc), but I cannot *write* to the drive (it says I don't have permissions) when I am using my mac. Any strategy around doing this? Thanks for your help! John
Guest
Check if your drive is NTFS. (the file format) If you want compatibility, you should try FAT32
ascension
I called the tech support number (they were very kind people, btw) ... and they said this is a bit tricky. For now, I need to put this "project" on hold... but I'm sure there is a way. Anyone else have any ideas?
natew
Hi Fat would work but you should just drag and drop the files to your maxtor disk for that. Using Retrospect just complicates things. For this scenario at least... Thanks Nate
