Duplicate files?

Let's say I have 4 similar XP boxes that all backup to the same Backup Set. Each client has 400 files that are exactly the same, and each have 300 files that are the same with exception to the time/date stamp.

 

Will it copy all 700 of those files 4 times? or 1 time? Or will it copy the 400 exact duplicates only once? Or something else?

Retrospect's Windows default matching criteria are:

Create date/time, modify date/time, file size and file name.

 

If _all_ of those criteria match Retrospect will backup the file only once from one client. It then notes that the location of the file on the other clients.

 

If any one of the criteria are different the file is considered new or changed and is backed up again.
