jabrwoky
I've been using retrospect for a while and finally decided I better read the doc and really understand what I'm doing. I've always been confused when it says it can't find a member or needs a new member. I look in the help index and search for 'member' and see three entires: add to hard disk, add tape, configuring Backup Set. But there is no actual definition of what a member is. I'm using Retrospect 7.0.31 on Windows XP professional. Regards, Ed
natew
Hi A "backup set" is a group of media containing your backup. Each member is a seperate piece of media containing data. For example, if you have a backup stored on 5 CD-R disks there are 5 members in the backup set? Chances are you will only have one member in the backup set if you are backing up to hard disk. crofttk
This can also be picked up from the "User's Guide", especially if you use the "find" function loading the PDF version into Acrobat Reader.
