wlandymore
when I'm doing a backup of all computers in a domain, there is one computer that is giving me the errors: File "C:\folder\sub\pro\": can't read security information, error -1101 (file/directory not found) Trouble reading files, error -1102 (drive missing/unavailable) File "C:\drift.mpeg": can't read, error -1101 (file/directory not found) Does anyone know what would cause this on this computer? The computer is running windows server 2003, I have the open file backup add-on, the folders are there, I'm using the rbu user....what am I missing? natew
Hi What version of Retrospect are you using? Are these folders local or on a network machine? Do the errors occur during the copy or compare phase of backup? Thanks Nate
wlandymore
it's version 7.0.249 it's a networked machine and it seems to be in the copying phase. That's where I'll get about 7 warnings (1101) and then there will be the 2 errors....1102 and 1101. Always in the same directory, etc. I just can't find anything wrong with it. natew
Hi Are you using Retrospect client to access the networked machine or are you using file sharing? What is the OS and disk format of the network machine? Thanks Nate
wlandymore
NTFS on the machine, OS=server 2003, using client (7.0.107)
natew
Hi If the errors happen on the same files every time: Move (don't copy) the problem files to another physical disk. Defrag the source disk Copy the files back This will guarantee that the files are rewritten to a new location on disk and that directory information about the files is updated. That should take care of it. Thanks Nate
