ama3
I have multi-partition WD 120gb which I am trying to backup on WD USB 160gb. I have updated all Intel & WD drivers. Device Manager looks ok but int13 checked & removable is not. I have yet to bring up Retrospect 6.5 without it eventually freezing system. Ditto Microsoft backup ... unable to get Acronis trial version to even install ... On cold boot, have to unplug USB hub in order to boot else black screen. How could a simple track copy be so difficult? Nothing to date (even PartitionMagic!) has capability to build extended partition on USB drive -- to hold the HD partitions. Fdisk does not even open if USB is attached.
natew
Hi I would bet this is a problem with USB drivers. Windows 98 gave me nothing but headaches trying to use a USB2 card. Try removing the USB hub and plugging directly into the machine. In all seriousness If that doesn't work you might want to consider an upgrade to Windows XP. It handles USB devices much better. Thanks Nate
