cheetah
I just purchased and installed Retrospect Express Backup and I've been having a problem with it. I followed all the directions to do the first backup, but after it starts, it's trying to erase the CD-RW and after about 10-15 minutes I get this following error: - 2/11/2002 5:25:11 PM: Copying Drive C (C:) Device trouble: "1-Backup Set A", error -103 (unexpected beginning of media) 2/11/2002 5:35:03 PM: Execution stopped by operator Remaining: 38255 files, 3.4 GB Completed: 0 files, zero KB Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:09:51 (00:09:31 idle/loading/preparing) Quit at 2/11/2002 5:36 PM + Retrospect Express version 5.6.132 Launched at 2/11/2002 5:39 PM + Retrospect Driver Update, version 2.6.105 I couldn't find error 103 in any of the knowledge databases. I tried deleting and recreating the backup but no good. My CD-RW is a 24x/10x/40x that came with my new Dell computer. It lists as a LITE-ON CD-RW in the device window. I am trying to use 4-10x CW-RW media, 700MB. It's called Smart Buy and I purchased it at CompUSA. Is this a symptom of a media it doesn't understand? Should I switch to a 650MB media instead of 700MB? TIA.
ria
Hi, I know this is a long shot...Have you managed to resolve your problem. I recently downloaded the trial version of Retrospect Backup software 5.6. Unfortunately, I am getting the same error message. I have posted a message in the forum hoping for some help, but have not had any reply. Perhaps you can help. Ria
lv2ski
The 1st thing to always do in this situation is to try a new Brand of media. Preferably a brand name.
