keithcb
I am about to add 2 PCs running Windows 2003 server to our Retrospect backup system. However, the Retrospect server is a Mac running version 6.0.212 Can anyone please tell me what version I should install on the PCs? Thanks,
natew
Hi Using Retrospect for Mac you will only be able to back up data from the Windows 2003 servers. You will not be able to backup the OS, applications, NTFS permissions, Active Directory or registry. If you need a full backup of the Windows servers you should switch to Retrospect for Windows. That said, you can install the regular windows client on the Windows 2003 servers. Thanks Nate
keithcb
Thanks for the reply! No problem, just going to back up regular files. My question is exactly that; which windows client do I need? There are three different ones; 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0 Do I need version 6.0 - since the mac runs 6.0.212 ? Thanks! natew
Hi Any of them will work. Client and Retrospect application version numbers are not tied together. I would use the 7.0 client since it is the newest. Thanks nate
