jafflesoftware
If I am using a selector where a volume name match is required, why does the client bother searching volumes that do not match the volume selector? Trying to sort out my iPod backup issue, I set up a Proactive Backup specifically for the iPod, using the Client Desktop as the source volume, and a selector that contains the volume name of the iPod and the folder required to be backud up as an AND condition, and I am sitting watching Retrospect scan the entire Macintosh HD system Drive... about 500,000 files later, it then starts on the iPod... Surely if the volume name does not match then Retrospect should ignore that volume and not scan it????
natew
Hi Selectors are applied after each volume has been scanned for content. Have you considered changing the volumes setting for this client in the configure->clients screen of the Retrospect backup server? Thanks Nate
