dthurston
Setup: PMG3/300 w/internal SCSI Travan drive (on-board bus) Apple 10/100 card, OS 9.2.2 clean install. Retrospect 5.0205 (latest) I have a script set to mount an OS X server as an Appleshare client (not the Retro client) and backup all the volumes. Though it tries to back it up, I get errors like the following: Can't read file “G36gig.dmg”, error -1072 (AppleTalk: connection closed) and Can't access volume MEP_SYS, error -5016 (server: not responding). Any ideas?? I've verified the user ID and password and everything as well and am stumped. Thanks, Doug Thurston
IrenaS
Can you do an immediate backup? When these errors happen, can you see and browse the OS X volume on the desktop?
dthurston
I was able to start a backup and it proceeded to count items and everything, but since there are a LARGE number of files. The failures were overnight and so I couldn't check that. I noticed in the manual that it states that when Retrospect mounts the server for backup, that it won't appear on the desktop. IrenaS
If you're running the application under OS 9, the server should show up on the desktop if Retrospect mounts it. It won't be browseable if you are running the application under OS X, but OS 9 doesn't have the same limitations. I'm sorry, but can you clarify whether or not you were able to do an immediate backup please?
