tvdv
I prepared a backup-strategy using scripts: 1st sunday/month: RECYCLING BACKUP to external HDD (-> creates a 250 GB retrospect-file) -> works fine Daily: NORMAL BACKUP (incremental) to FTP-Server (-> should create a 250 MB retrospect-file) -> doesn't work properly Problem: Retrospect does backup all data to the ftp-server, not only the new resp. modified files. It seems that it doesn't compare with the 250 GB retrospect-file on the external harddisk. How can I backup just the modified/new files to the internet? Using the file attribute 'DATE' works, but doesn't backup files that e.g. have been copied from an older CD to the fileserver... Can somebody help? natew
Hi Each backup set is independent of the other. You can't do a full backup in one backup set and incrementals in the other. You would need to first run a normal backup to the ftp set that copies all of the data and then do normal backups again after that to get the new and changed files. Thanks Nate
