sdockery
We have Retrospect Multi-Server 6.5.350 running under Windows XP, backing up both Windows and Mac clients over an Ethernet network. Everything worked normally until recently, but now the Macs are incredibly slow. We did not change anything as far as I know. We did not upgrade the OS or client software. All Retrospect software is the latest version (except the Mac client, as the newest version is supposed to be for Mac OS X 10.4 only). Macs are running Mac OS X 10.1.8, and Retrospect client 6.0.109. Now the typical speed of Mac backup over our network has dropped to .4MB/minute, where we get around 75MB/minute on Windows backups. Any ideas? Help!!!! natew
Hi Try this - open up the network control panel on the mac and set the ethernet transfer speed to 10Mb full duplex. Does that help with the backup speed at all? I had a mac that had all kinds of wierd problems with 100Mb network under OSx. Thanks nate
