jkitson
It would be nice if it were possible to remove a DVD-R disc from a DVD backup set. Sometimes a new disc gets errors, and it would just be nice to toss it from the backup set. With tapes, you could erase the tape and that would remove it from the backup set, but since DVD-R can't be erased I don't see a way to directly remove it from the backup set. The only way I see now is to rebuild the catalog and just stop before the disc to be removed. That wouldn't be too bad if the fast catalog rebuild were on the discs, but this usually requires going back to about disc 4 and reading each disc from there. Even that wouldn't be so bad, but Retrospect asks on each disc if there are more discs in the backup set...would be nice if it would automatically continue if it sees the next disc in a drive. natew
Hi You can go to configure->backup sets open the properties window of the backup set and set the bad disc as "missing". Retrospect will know that any data that was on that disc is no longer in the backup set. Your disc names will skip a number but otherwise everything will work normally. Thanks Nate
