bstock
When I click on Device Scan, it hangs. I believe it is scanning my Jaz drive (id=4) but am not sure. There is no disk in the drive during the scan. I then have to end the Retrospect task in Windows. FWIW, I also have a LaCie FireWire PocketDrive. What's going on? Thanks. Mayoff
Try disconnecting the Jaz drive to see if the hang goes away. Also, try disconnecting any USB Smartcard readers under Windows to see if it helps.
bstock
Thanks for this reply, too. Unfortunately, if I have to disconnect devices just to use Retrospect, I will uninstall it before the evaluation period has elapsed. Quite frankly, I don't much like the program AND it's expensive compared to other backup utilities. I'm not quite sure why it has such a major reputation.
