Guest
When upgrading to a new processor/motherboard, how does R handle reloading the files and registry? One of the factors in making such upgrades is the OS writes different info to the registry and system files. I can't take a mirror copy of a drive installed on MFR A's Celeron and just move it to MFR B's pentium 4 in a different box. We've had to re-install the OS and re-install all the files. It's ok to upgrade a drive in the SAME box, but we would like to upgrade systems easily. How does Retrospect allow us to make this happen?
lv2ski
Retrospect cannot always restore a registry if your computer has new hardware. Alot of the time it will restore the registry but you will have issues rebooting the machine due to the registry not matching the new hardware. This is not suggested!
