darchell
Hi Folks, For some reason my installation of Restrospect 6.5.350 is causing system errors to pop up into the Windows XP Event Viewer every time it autolaunches to run one of the scheduled backups. The exact error is: "Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine IMultiInterfaceEventControlGetSubscriptions. hr = 0x80040155." The computer is running Windows XP Professional, with all patches applied (According to Windows Update). 768 MB of RAM, about 100GB of diskspace free across the system. Norton Antivirus 2004 is loaded in the autoprotect mode at all times. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Doug./
natew
Hi Are there any errors in the Retrospect log? Retrospect uses the VSS to copy open files. If VSS is having trouble somewhere you are likely to see errors in the event log. Thanks nate
darchell
Hi Nate, Yeah, there were permission errors about open files. After hunting high and low, I've found the fix for it (actually, from an old post in the forums here). Just for your reference, the fix was: http://forums.dantz.com/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Number=49317&page=&view=&sb=5&o=&vc=
