justgordon
Most of the time when I try to run a backup using Retrospect 7.0 I receive the error message: Assertion failure at "tstring.cpp-2183". I am using Windows 2000 and backing up to a Seagate Tape drive. I have spent many hours working with Tech Support but they have not been able to suggest a fix. I am about ready to give up on version 7.0 and go back to 6.0 which works just fine on my computers and is a lot more functionable.
kaikow
tech support cannot help on such an issue unless they bring the issue to the attention of the developers. if that has been done, then you likely have to go bact to 6 until a solution is found. justgordon
How can I find out if the developers know about the problem?
natew
Hi If Tech Support cannot find a resolution they will need to escalate the issue. Since the problem has not been resolved I suggest calling them directly again and asking them to do so. What kind of things have you tried so far? Thanks Nate
justgordon
Hi Nate, Thanks for the response. I have not been following my tread as I finally called tech support. I again spent several hours talking, uninstalling and reinstalling both version 6 and 7 and finally going back to using version 6. The issue has been escalated and I am now waiting for a new installer update. Gordon
