cwcalle
I have been a Retrospect 6 user for a long time. Within the last month, the program has slowed to a crawl when I run my various back-up scripts. The only new software on my computer is the latest edition of Panda Anti-Virus. I opened ports for Retrospect on the windows firewall in case that was the problem but it didn't help. I bought the upgrade to 6.5 today and the problem persists. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? -Carter
natew
Hi Have you tried disabling the Anti-virus software and running a backup? Thanks Nate
cwcalle
Yes. I wound up waiting over an hour on hold for Dantz Tech Support. I did reach a very knowledgeable technician who had me trash the config files and reinstall which did the trick. For sime reason, uninstalling Retrospect doesn't remove these config files. If the files are corrupted, as they were in my case, the program will slow or crash upon launching. I wish the knowledgebase had had an article on the issue so I wouldn't have had to waut so long on hold. -Carter
