KOPFteam
I'm running "Retrospect Multiserver 6.0.206" with "DriverUpdate 3.9.106" on a "Windows 2003 Server". I'm Duplicating (immediate) a complete partition to another server "Destination: \\servername\sharename" Everything seems to work, but when I'm looking at the "Operations Log" I find the following error a few times: MapError: unknown Windows error -2.147.024.809 VssWEnumWriterMetadata: GatherWriterMetadata failed, winerr -2147024809, error -1001 Any idea what's wrong? BTW: "Duplication state information" takes a lot of time, even if the duplicate itself has only to copy a few files, because the state information is updated for every file not only those that were copied. Why? Thanks, Florian
natew
Hi Are there any file names associated with the error message? It may be some bogus logging info that is slipping through the log filters. Each time you run a duplicate Retrospect has to update NTFS permissions on every file and folder that is on the source disk. This happens regardless of which files were actually copied. You could turn off the permissions copy in your script options if needed. Thanks Nate
KOPFteam
Hi, thanks for your answer. No, no filenames. natew
Hi It looks like these errors are not being included in the error count at the end of each operation. Thats good news. You can ignore these errors. They are supposed to be filtered out by Retrospect but some of them are sneaking into the log anyway. Nate
