jimmy_u
Hi there, I'm looking to centralize the backup of a network which has the following components: 1 MacOS X Server 1 MacOS 9 Server 20 MacOS X Clients 5 MacOS 9 Clients 5 Windows 98 Clients 5 Windows NT Clients 5 Windows 2000 Clients Now I'm wondering if I would be able to backup this environment (both servers and clients) by installing Retrospect Workgroup Backup for Macintosh and a compatible backup device on the MacOS X Server? I know I'll have to buy add-on client packs but will this solution be able to backup the 2 servers and the client computers? Do I have to buy any additional client software/agent/license and install that on the second server(MacOS 9) or the different clients, both Mac and Windows? Thanks in advance, Jimmy Utterstrom
IrenaS
You'll need Retrospect Server to back up more than 1 server. This product gives you an application to back up your 2 servers, and as many as 100 clients total. Though that's more clients than you need, you actually end up spending less on Server than you would on Workgroup + client packs.
