One of the new features which is supposed to make Open File Backup actually work is the ability to have Retrospect use specific username/password combinations to run under instead of just the localhost account. When I installed the upgrade, it asked me what account I wanted to run under. I chose the Administrator account (Admin of this server). It tried the account 10 times, but it refused it every time. I then tried my personal acocunt (which is also an Admin on that server, a Domain Admin, etc. etc.). I tried it about 10 times. Everytime it was refused. I was logged on to that server locally (at the console) as administrator at the time, and when I installed the upgrade, and when I installed 6.0, and... Mayoff Posted May 15, 2003 Report Share Posted May 15, 2003 I don't think these specific messages are related to open file. I am doing some research to see if I can find out what they are. I suspect they represent "debug logging" that is normally suppressed by Retrospect, and do not actually represent any type of failure. The login options when you launch Retrospect the first time are not related to the open file features. We use this login method so we can connect to Exchange and SQL servers. Verify that the network path is correct and the destination computer is not busy or turned off. If Windows still cannot find the network path, contact your network administrator. " Looks like the Drive I: is a mapped network drive which is no longer available. Go to Configure>volumes and see if any disks are being accessed using MS Networking. Stop the Retrospect Launcher service, change the 'log in' back to local system account and start the service again. Open Retrospect and configure the user.
