jtb1965
Hi - I get the error message " TMemory::freeSpace: HeapValidate failed" and Retrospect runs continuously at 20% CPU load. My machine OS is Vista 64bit Business SP2. My software is Retrospect is: + Retrospect version 7.7.208 + Driver Update and Hot Fix, version 7.7.1.102 (64-bit) Any help would be appreciated as this is very frustrating. Cheers Jamie. Mayoff
How much physical ram do you have? Are you doing a backup when this happens or some other operation?
Mayoff
This is fixed in the next release
pmcjones
When will the next release be available? I just upgraded my machine (running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) from 2GB to 6GB of DRAM, and the very next run of Retrospect (same version as the person who began this thread) reported: + Duplicate using Duplicate C at 3/20/2010 9:30 PM To volume C_Drive on HP Personal Media Drive (Z:)... - 3/20/2010 9:30:18 PM: Copying Local Disk (C:) TMemory::freeSpace: HeapValidate failed TMemory::freeSpace: HeapValidate failed The good news is it appeared to complete the Duplicate run, and was about 10% faster than the previous few days. posadzka
In my last transfer backup sets to tapes I've had the same messages. Looks for me the 64bit version of Retrospect is pretty bugged.
pmcjones
I installed the update (7.7.325 64-bit), and the "HeapValidate failed" messages disappeared. So I'm a happy camper right now.
