RichardDeShong
I have restored a series of rdb files from old media. How can I view what's in them? Or how can I re-create a backup set using them? When I try to recreate a catalog, and point to the folder where the rdp files are, it says "the selected disk does not contain any backup set data files". Retrospect 7.0, with a few hundred *.rdb files.
Johnstaite
Exactly the same problem. I have backup up all my files prior to a retore. I checked I could read the files so that I could select certain files to restore. I now have a load of .rdb files on a WD Pro external HD all 600mb except the last one which I cannot access. I have followed all the tutorials but the process is looking for .rbf and .rbc files none of which are present on the external drive. Mayoff
Have you tried a catalog rebuild? The process is documented in the user's guide or you can watch the videos in the knowlegebase. I have followed all the tutorials but the process is looking for .rbf and .rbc files none of which are present on the external drive. I think you are looking at the wrong steps. A catalog rebuild from a disk backup set doesn't require either of these file types for the rebuild process. blm14
How old are those RDB files? Were they made with a version of retrospect older than 7?
Johnstaite
Thanks for pushing me back to the tutorials. I made the mistake of getting through the file structure on the WD Pro drive to 1-WD Backup Pro and selecting open instead of OK. It is running now. sorry another novice at work!
