cgibbons
Our state agency has almost completely moved from Macs to PC clients. We're keeping our Mac OS X Servers v10.2.8 that are backed up every night by a Mac OS X 10.2.8 client computer using Retrospect Server 5. But, we want to turn off AppleTalk on the servers and turn off AFP file services on the 10.2.8 servers. After looking at the Retrospect documentation and the support site, I'm not clear if either one needs to stay on for use by Retrospect. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance, Carol
natew
Hi If you are backing up via Retrospect client you can turn both of them off. The client uses its own protocol for network access and does not rely on file sharing. Nate
