Fulco Posted March 1, 2003 Report Share Posted March 1, 2003 System: Windows 2000 Server SP3; Retrospect 6.0.206 During the Snapshot phase lots of errors are generated: File "C:\Inetpub\catalog.wci\CiCL0001.000": can't read security information, error -1020 (sharing violation) .. File "C:\System Volume Information\catalog.wci\00010002.ci": can't read security information, error -1101 (file/directory not found) .. Can't back up Certificate Services database, error -1116 (can't access network volume) I tried changing the "Log On" options for the "Retrospect Launcher" (in Services) with no success (to Administrator). AmyJ Posted March 12, 2003 Report Share Posted March 12, 2003 Are you using Retrospect client software or are you accessing these volumes through Windows networking? There is no need to change the Launcher Service when using Client software. The Server editions come with unlimited clients. See Chapter 6 in your Retrospect User's Guide for detailed information on client backup. Can't read security information errors indicate Retrospect is unable to read the permissions of the file.
