khamburger
I've been using Retrospect Professional for many years. I'm now running v7.6.123. My email notifications have been sent successfully to my Earthlink account but now I want to update it to my Gmail account. When I make the change, Retrospect is generating the following error message: E-mail notification failed: error -592 (invalid response from SMTP server) Has anyone seen this problem before? If so, am I doing something wrong? I know that Gmail uses different ports. Could that be the issue? Thanks for any help.
Guest
Gmail want's TLS + AUTH, but retrospect does not support TLS, only AUTH. You'll need a different mail server which does not require TLS; typically this would be one on your LAN. I posted another response to this a short while ago.
