ecrm
Second backups: Proactive backups set to once a day will re-backup the entire client if a USB or external drive is attached to the system during the day. I'm looking for a way to disable this and haven't found anything in Script>Options, Preferences or Secret Prefs.
Lennart_T
Not sure what you are doing. Are the USB drives connected to a client? Or to the server? Do you want these USB drives to be backed up at all?

jwright
Have you tried adjusting the client properties on the server (Configure --> Clients)? I always use "Selected Volumes" and then highlight the volumes I want to backup. I believe that this limits the volumes that are available to Retrospect. Not 100% sure how that works with USB devices. Jeff

We use "Selected Volumes" here to avoid backing up USB pins, cell phones, digital cameras, USB drives etc etc.
