paresh
Hi, Auto discovery of client is not working in VLAN. If a client is added using Direct method with its IP address, it works & client gets added to the server database. However, if multicast or subnet broadcast method is used to discover clients, no client is found & discovery dialog box seems to take very long time without any client detection. "Auto add clients" option is enabled in the Preferences menu on Retrospect server. Please help.
Lennart_T
Something is blocking UDP and TCP ports 497. It might be the built-in Windows firewall, routers, etc.
Ramon88
Is this backup server using multiple network interfaces? Retrospect can have a problem with that as well. In our experience using direct IP, though cumbersome, is often more reliable. Heck, we even had a new 3Com 48 ports network switch (all 1 Gigabit) that interfered. It proved to be an (unresolved) bug in the switch. We replaced it with a twice as expensive HP Procurve and it worked again... So your mileage may vary.
