suhrly
McAfee finds virus loader.exe in retrospect.exe. this happened during a virus scan while my back up was running. It (McAfee) says the "virus" was detected in the folder "\device\harddiskvolumeshadowcopy\" and was detected as "generic.f" a trojan. It was found in the application "retrospect". Has anyone else had this problem. Is it real?
Mayoff
Retrospect as downloaded or shipped from EMC Insignia does not contain any viruses. You should check with MCafee to confirm if your computer contains a real virus.
Lottermann
F-Secure is recognizing Retrospect 8.x file "assert.exe" as Virus/Malware. Can you please make sure there is no Virus/Malware in this program and inform F-Secure so they can update their signatures.
Mayoff
We have verified that Retrospect is fine. Some anti-virus programs have been giving false positives on Retrospect files. We have notified a few of the anti-virus vendors about this. Please make sure your virus definitions are up to date.
