mjbolzan Posted January 15, 2007 Report Share Posted January 15, 2007 I am receiving this error trying to restore some files to a disk from a disk image. the source was a copycatx created disk image of a failing hard drive with bad blocks allowed to be skipped. used retrospect to back up the mounted image. no errors in the backup. when i try to restore, at some point retrospect stops with this error "trouble writing files, error -1 (unknown)" the restore always stops at the same place, so i am resorting to skipping the problem files/folders. so far, i have had to repeat this for four files/folders. I can find no information on error -1. i'm unhappy the software stops dead on this error. i don't understand why the program is unable to lay down something it did pick up. anyone seen this error and know what it means?
