Can't rebuild catalogue files, can't access Setup, can't get my data. HELP

Hi,

My PC melted down spectacularly, forcing me to buy a new one. I reinstalled Retrospect Express HD for the Maxtor OneTouch on the new PC, but can't access my files to get my data back. I've deleted reinstalled, followed links about rebuilding the catalogue file (eg: http://kb.dantz.com/display/2n/articleDirect/index.asp?aid=9573&r=0.8858759) but no joy.

When I reconnect and start up Retrospect, it doesn't poll the Maxtor drive to build a new file. Also, the Setup box when clicked, won't open. And the Restore button is greyed out, so I can't select it. I thought as the start window shows the software as "unlicensed", this might be the problem, but I can't seem to do anything to enter my license number.

Any ideas how to fix this?! I miss my data!

Hi Andrew. No, I'd installed 1.0, then 1.1 and still wouldn't work. I decided to try installing the trial version of 2.0 on the off chance it would work and it did, which was great, although it is annoying that I'll have to fork out $50 bc 1.1 won't, for some bizarre reason, work.

Thanks for your note,

Gregg
