Retromilrite
I thought I would use a compact flash card as backup media. I have yet to find a way to format the CF with NTFS. Is this something I am overlooking? Is there a way to format the same as on the HD (NTFS)or is it even needed? Will retrospect even backup to a CF media? Couldn't find anything on the net so thought I would try this forum. Thanks
RonaldL
Give this link a read: http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2004/04/05/108205.aspx Also, it's worth noting that NTFS is journaling file system so it writes to the drive a lot more frequently. Most flash devices have a limited number of read/writes so formatting it for NTFS may not be the best idea. If you are backing up to a backup set, I think it's fine leave it as FAT/FAT32. If you are duplicating, you'll be unable to duplicate security information. You can just uncheck the option to do so within the script options.
