lecampbell
The Hardware: PowerMac G4/450 DP Firewire 800 PCI Card LaCie D2 Firewire 800 Drives Software Before: Mac OS 9 Retrospect 5.1 Software After: Mac OS X 10.4.7 Retrospect 6.1.126 Retrospect Driver Update 6.1.7.101 I just upgraded the machine to OS X and the latest Retrospect 6.1. Under OS 9, Retro 5 recognized and backed up to the external firewire drives. Under OS X, the drives mount, show up on the desktop, and are useable, but Retrospect 6.1 doesn't acknowledge their existence. Any suggestions? Thanks! nekr0phage
Hi, Hard drives will appear in the Configure>Volumes section. They will only be considered devices if you enable the preference under Media Handling to "Use hard drives as removable disks."
lecampbell
Thanks! That fixed one problem. Now when I attach any firewire drive, though, it shows as write protected in the Device config list. Any suggestions? Thanks!
nekr0phage
Try formatting the drive with disk utility and get info on the drive to ensure it is not Locked.
