terskac
I am getting error -1309 when I launch Retrospect. I am using version 6.1. The message reads.. Can't save changes to the operations log,error-1309 (file too large for allocation block size). The file is on a locked volume or folder. I am running OS 10.3.9 I also notice my operation log is empty when I open it in the Reports tab. Can anyone help me solve this?
waltr
hi ter, i think your log is corrupt. first thing to do is quit Retrospect, then go to: "/Library/Preferences/Retrospect" and move the 'Operations Log' to a different directory (like the Desktop). launch Retrospect. if that fixes the problem, you should probably just delete the old 'Operations Log'. i doubt it's any good. terskac
That did the trick! I was searching for that file and it didn't show up. The poor thing was over 2 gigs.

waltr
no problem. there is a setting in the preferences that will limit the size of this file. you might want to check this and make sure it is set to say 100mb or so. 2gb of logs is a lot of logs.... rhwalker
There is also a preference (Special > Preferences > Logging) to set the maximum log size. Russ
